Brion Berkley, Attorney at Law is a general practice firm, that focuses on Construction Defect Claims and Expedited Matters. Expedited matters include Landlord/Tenant Unlawful Detainers, Restraining Order Expedited Hearings and Bench Trials (both Domestic Violence and Civil Harassment Restraining Orders), and Workers Compensation Hearings, Depositions, and Trials.
Brion became a duly licensed California Attorney in February 2018. He began his legal career by doing transactional property matters, first as a paralegal then as an attorney. Shortly after becoming licensed, he began working for defense firms that advocated for insurance companies. During the Great Resignation, in July 2020, Brion resigned from the Defense Law Firm he worked for and opened his own solo practice.
Brion also has hands on experience in the construction industry. In 2005 he passed the CSLB exam and became a General B licensed contractor working both on commercial and residential projects. During the Great Recession, when constructing homes, Brion became concerned with the effects the recession was having on homeowners and contractors and decided to go to law school to be an advocate for homeowners and contractors.
Brion is also an instructor of construction law. In March 2019 he began teaching new contractors Construction Law and Business, at
Contractors State License Schools. He also teaches Construction Law at Hartnell College as an adjunct professor.
In his down time Brion volunteers as a mediator for the Mandell Gisnet Center for Unlawful Detainers and Civil Harassment matters. He is quoted in the December 10, 2020 Monterey County Weekly article "Mending Fences" regarding mediation:
